Lộng Gió Cafe

Posted by

This is a gem of a place to come sit and have a coffee overlooking the Perfume River, Phu Xuan bridge and The Flag Pole that sits prominently in the Citadel.

There are three sections to the cafe. The main area that is raised up along side the river, flanked by two other areas to the left and right that are terraced down to the water’s edge. The two terraced areas sit underneath the shade of trees, which provides ample shading from the hot summer months.

The best time to come here is any time of the day. Particularly nice times are at lunch time so you get the full coverage of the shade or late afternoon so you can watch the sun set and the Flag Pole light up after dark.

To get here, you head down Le Loi street and go pass Phu Xuan bridge. Then about 100 or so metres past the Phu Xuan bridge you will see the entrance to Long Gio Cafe on the right. Walk or ride down (depending on how you travel here) and chose where you want to sit. My personal favourite is on the left terrace. If you get lost, ask for Ly Tu Trong Park which the cafe is situated in.

If you feel like getting into the water, then try out one of the swan paddle boats which is about 250m to the left of the cafe. The paddle boats are around 50.000VND per hour.

Coffees start from 12.000VND for a black Vietnamese coffee and 15.000VND for a Vietnamese coffee with milk. Orange juice is around 30.000VND and teas are 15.000VN.
